Spring Water Nigeria Limited (SWAN) was incorporated in 1981 and commenced commercial production of Natural Spring Water in December 1983. SWAN was set up by Nigerian investors in partnership with Evian International of France. In 1996 uac of Nigeria Plc acquired the major shareholding of SWAN thus becoming a subsidiary of uac of Nigeria Plc, the oldest, the largest and undoubtedly the most viable conglomerate in Nigeria .

For its well over two decades of existence as a pioneer bottler of bottled water, Spring Water Nigeria Limited with its SWAN brands of natural spring water and carbonated soft drinks has been consistent in satisfying the needs of its numerous and growing customers' needs for genuine, pure and natural spring water and convenient soft drinks not only for healthy drinking, but also to suit all occasions for use in homes, offices, the foods, events, and recreation industry, sports, hospitals, aviation, military, humanitarian aid, etc distributed through its multiple trade channel.

The Spring Water which is the base for all SWAN products is uniquely sourced from natural reservoir existing some forty meters under the hills of Kerang. This reservoir is protected from pollution by Lava Sheets made of very hard rocks which preserve the pristine naturalness.

SWAN Natural Spring Water is absolutely natural and perfectly pure. The crystal clear, tasteless and odourless water is naturally protected as it flows from its unique origin in the volcanic highlands of the Kerang hills of the Jos Plateau. The name Plateau evokes a feeling of altitude, coolness and health, which are indeed the basic ingredients for the improvement of the quality of life.
