Spring Waters Nigeria Limited (SWAN) was incorporated in 1981 and commenced commercial production of Natural Spring Water in December 1983 with the brand name SWAN, as the pioneer brand of bottled water in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.

SWAN was set up in partnership with Evian International of Sovetec, France by some Nigerian investors. Sodeteg of France, an international firm of Consulting Engineering with considerable experience in the design and construction of food industry production plants designed, constructed, procured and installed the equipment and machineries of the factory.

Evian divested from the company in 1986 and SWAN became a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, the oldest and largest conglomerate in Nigeria in 1996.
SWAN changed its packaging technology from PVC to PET bottling system, to conform to global and regulatory changes as well as to meet the demand and aspiration of its consumers.

The company has in 2006 completed and commissioned a modern processing line for production of carbonated soft drinks. The decision to enter into the carbonated soft drinks market was formed out of the need to tap from the huge potentials in the bottled drinks market as well as to respond to the growing demand from loyal consumers for health friendly, trusted and exciting convenient soft drink brands that meet consumers need for convenience, fun and quality.

The Company has been providing premium bottled natural spring water to the discerning Nigerian consumer for over 23 years.
